known zarzuela singers Placido Domingo and Pepita Embil, for professional reasons his parents moved to Mexico, where the tenor spent his childhood and adolescence and acquired a comprehensive musical training, as not only learned but orchestral song with Igor Markevitch in the Mexican National Conservatory. With a national opera company that toured the United States and then spent a season as stable opera singer from Tel Aviv (1962-1965). On January 1, 1966 debuted at Liceo de Barcelona with La Mulata de Córdoba , the Mexican composer José Pablo Moncayo, and since then their releases were counted for success, both at the Metropolitan Opera House in 1968 as the next year at La Scala in Milan and at the festival Verona, a period which culminated with the triumphant reception given to its incorporation of the role of Cavaradossi in Tosca at Covent Garden in London in 1971. Des then remains as a major international opera figures, being possibly the most popular tenor and one of the singers with more extensive discography
