Latin music in New York in 1960 was led by musicians such as Ray Barretto and Eddie Palmieri, influenced by imported Cuban rhythms as pachanga and charanga , but after missile crisis 1962, the Cuban-American contact declined profoundly [12] the result was the growth of Puerto Rican influence in Caribbean music developed in New York. VALLENATO
Vallenato is a musical genre indigenous to the Caribbean coast of Colombia, with its epicenter in the former province Padilla (Current southern La Guajira, northern Cesar and eastern Magdalena ).
