Born in New York, Stallone attended school in Philadelphia, where he became interested in acting. He spent two years at the American College of Switzerland in Geneva. Back in the United States, he enrolled in drama at the University of Miami, where he took his first steps as a writer. In 1973 he went through almost all the castings of the city, but had little success.
During this period, Sylvester turned to screenwriting.
His first important opportunity presented to him in 1974 when he got one of the leading roles in The Lords of Flatbush. This film also earned him his first credit as a screenwriter, particularly for additional dialogue.
With the money earned through this work, Stallone left New York and moved to Hollywood. Once installed, started call back to the doors of the studies and art representatives, getting some roles in film and television. In parallel, he continued his work as a screenwriter.
